How do I reinstall the Fitbit app and reconnect a Versa 4 on iPhone and iPad?

Answer

Reinstall Fitbit or Google Fitbit/Health from the App Store, sign in with the same Google Account used for Fitbit, forget the old Versa 4 Bluetooth entry if needed, then pair the watch again from inside the official app.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • If an iPad was hacked, change your Apple ID and Google passwords from a trusted device before reconnecting health apps.

Follow these steps

  1. Reinstall Fitbit from the App Store

On the iPhone and iPad, open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Purchased or Apps. Find Fitbit (or the current Google Fitbit app listing) and tap Download or cloud icon to reinstall.

You should see: The Fitbit app icon returns on the Home Screen.

  2. Forget the old Versa 4 Bluetooth pairing if listed

Open Settings > Bluetooth. If Versa 4 appears, tap the info button next to it and choose Forget This Device. Repeat on the other Apple device if both will pair at different times.

You should see: Versa 4 is removed from the Bluetooth device list.

  3. Sign in with the same Google Account

Open the Fitbit app and sign in with the Google Account that previously owned the Versa 4 data. Complete any on-screen prompts to allow Bluetooth and notifications.

You should see: You reach your Fitbit account home or a device setup screen.

  4. Add or set up the Versa 4 in the app

In the app, choose to add or set up a device, select Versa 4, and follow the pairing instructions on both the watch and the phone or iPad. Keep the devices close together until sync finishes.

You should see: The Versa 4 connects and begins syncing steps or heart-rate data.

  5. Repeat on the second Apple device if needed

Install and sign into the same account on the other device. Fitbit usually prefers one primary phone for Bluetooth sync; use the secondary device mainly for viewing data if dual pairing is limited.

You should see: Both devices have the app installed, and the Versa 4 syncs with the primary phone.

Extra tips

What to look for: Fitbit or Google Fitbit in the App Store Purchased list, a Google Account sign-in prompt, and Versa 4 under Bluetooth devices.

Before you change anything: Confirm which Google Account was used with Fitbit before the app was deleted. Use only the App Store or official Google Fitbit download path. Keep the Versa 4 charged and nearby during pairing. If the iPad was compromised, change important passwords from a trusted device before signing back into health apps.
