How do I change a subscription payment method to a checking account?

Answer

Open the service’s official account or billing page, edit the payment method, and add the checking account or debit card details there. Save the new method and confirm it becomes the default for the next renewal.

  • Stop if a popup asks you to pay an unlock fee to change payment methods.

Follow these steps

  1. Open account billing settings

Sign in on the official site or app and click the profile icon or account name, then open Billing, Payment methods, or Wallet.

You should see: You see the current credit card on file and an option to add a method.

  2. Add the checking-related payment method

Choose add bank account or add debit card. Enter the checking routing and account numbers or the debit card tied to that checking account, then save.

You should see: The new payment method appears in the list.

  3. Make it the default and remove the old card if desired

Set the new method as default for automatic payments. Remove or keep the old credit card according to your preference after the new method shows as valid.

You should see: The default payment method updates to the checking or debit option.

  4. Confirm the next invoice

Review the upcoming bill or run a small verification charge if the service requires micro-deposits. Watch email for payment-failure notices.

You should see: The account shows the next renewal will use the new method.

Extra tips

What to look for: Billing, Wallet, or Payment methods in the account menu, and whether ACH bank account or debit card is accepted.

Before you change anything: Have the routing and account numbers or the debit card for the checking account ready. Sign in only on the company’s official website or app. Confirm whether the service accepts ACH, debit, or only cards. Never send banking details through unsolicited chat links.
