How do I find my Tello account number and transfer PIN to port out?

Answer

Sign in to your Tello account, open the port-out or settings section, and use the account number and transfer PIN shown there—often the phone number is the account number unless Tello lists a different one.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Canceling Tello before the port finishes can release the number and stop the transfer.
  • Do not give your transfer PIN to random callers or chat contacts claiming to help port the number.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign in to Tello

Open the official Tello website or app and sign in with the account that owns the number.

You should see: Your Tello account dashboard loads and shows the line.

  2. Open port-out details

Go to Settings or the Port Out section and view the account number and transfer PIN provided for leaving Tello.

You should see: Tello displays the values the new carrier needs.

  3. Enter the exact values at the new carrier

In Mint or the new carrier’s port form, enter the account number exactly as Tello shows it. If Tello does not list a separate account number, use the Tello phone number as the account number when that is what Tello documents.

You should see: The new carrier accepts the port request, or gives a clearer error.

  4. Recheck if the account number is rejected

If the new carrier says the account number is invalid, return to Tello and confirm whether a separate account number exists, regenerate the transfer PIN if offered, and verify the line is still active before retrying.

You should see: Updated port credentials are accepted or Tello support clarifies the correct account number.

Extra tips

What to look for: Port Out section details, account number versus phone number, transfer PIN or number-transfer PIN, and whether the line still shows active in Tello

Before you change anything: Do not cancel Tello before the port completes. Copy the account number and PIN exactly as Tello shows them. Keep the Tello SIM installed and the phone reachable during the port. Never share the transfer PIN with anyone other than the new carrier’s official porting process.
