How do I see the last known location when Find My says No location found?

When Find My shows No location found and the iPhone is offline, Apple usually can only show the last recorded location if Find My was already enabled. Turning on Notify When Found is the usual next step so you get an alert if the phone reconnects.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Stop if a site or caller asks you to pay a fee to locate or unlock the phone.
- Erasing a missing iPhone can remove the chance of seeing future location updates after it comes online.
Follow these steps
Open Find My for that iPhone
On another Apple device, open the Find My app, or go to iCloud.com on a browser and open Find Devices. Select the missing iPhone from the device list.
You should see: You see that iPhone's status, such as Offline or No location found, and any last map position.
Check the last known location
Look at the map and status details for a last recorded location and timestamp. If the phone is offline, that pin is usually the most recent location Apple can show until the device reconnects.
You should see: You can see either a last known pin with a time, or a clear Offline / No location found status with no newer update.
Turn on Notify When Found
With that iPhone selected, turn on Notify When Found so you receive an alert if the device comes back online and reports a location.
You should see: Notify When Found is enabled for that iPhone.
Leave Find My and network settings alone if unsure
Do not remove the device from the account or choose Erase This Device unless you have already decided erase is necessary. Removing or erasing can limit future tracking options.
You should see: The iPhone remains listed in Find My with Notify When Found still on.
