Why is there no sound after installing a Connects2 CTSK100C.2 with a Pioneer head unit?
Answer
When the screen and controls work but speakers stay silent, the head unit is usually not sending the amp remote (turn-on) signal, or the interface is not feeding the factory amplifier. Check the blue amp-remote wire voltage with the radio on, then confirm the factory amp is powered and that the CTSK100C.2 loom matches your trim.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal before major harness work if you are unsure about shorts; incorrect amp wiring can damage the head unit or factory amplifier.
Follow these steps
Confirm volume and mute on the Pioneer
Turn the Pioneer on, raise the volume, and check that mute is off. Play a known source such as radio or CarPlay audio.
You should see: The screen shows a playing source and a non-zero volume level, but speakers may still be silent.
Measure the amp-remote wire
With the radio on, carefully measure DC voltage on the Pioneer harness blue amp-remote wire (often marked AMP) against a good ground. You are looking for roughly battery voltage when the unit is on and near 0V when it is off.
You should see: The blue wire shows about 12V with the radio on if the head unit is outputting a remote turn-on signal.
Locate and check the factory amplifier
Find the factory amp (often under the passenger seat or in the common amp bay for that Santa Fe trim). Confirm it has power and ground, and that its remote/turn-on input is connected through the interface loom.
You should see: You can identify the amp and see whether it is receiving power and a turn-on signal.
Verify the Connects2 loom part number
Read the label on the actual interface loom (not only the outer CTSK100C.2 kit box) and compare it with the seller or Connects2 vehicle listing for your Santa Fe year and amp configuration.
You should see: You confirm whether the loom is the amp-equipped variant or a mismatched harness.
Reconnect or replace the mismatched link
If the remote wire shows no voltage, repair that connection first. If voltage is present but the loom is wrong for an amplified system, obtain the correct Connects2 interface before cutting factory wiring.
You should see: Sound returns from the speakers once the amp is turned on and the correct audio path is used.

Extra tips
What to look for: Pioneer powered on with CarPlay and steering controls working but no audio; a blue amp-remote wire on the Pioneer harness (often labeled AMP); a factory amp under the passenger seat or in the usual amp location; the exact Connects2 interface loom part label, not only the outer kit box.
Before you change anything: Confirm the vehicle is a Hyundai Santa Fe and note the trim year if possible. Photograph the Connects2 loom labels and Pioneer harness plugs before unplugging anything. Do not cut or splice wires until you have confirmed which conductor is amp remote versus speaker or CAN. Keep the radio off while reconnecting plugs to avoid shorting the remote line.
