How do I update the credit card on an internet service account?

Answer

Sign in to your internet provider’s official account website or app, open Billing or Payment methods, replace the saved card, and confirm the next bill date so service is not interrupted.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Entering a card on a lookalike website can lead to theft; use only the provider’s official app or domain.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign in on the official provider site or app

Open your internet provider’s official website or mobile app and sign in with your account credentials. Avoid links from unexpected texts or emails.

You should see: You reach your account home or billing dashboard.

  2. Open payment methods

Go to Billing, Payment methods, Wallet, or Autopay settings and choose the option to update or replace the saved card.

You should see: You see fields to enter a new card or edit the existing payment method.

  3. Enter the new card and save

Enter the new credit card number, expiration date, security code, and billing ZIP carefully, then save. Confirm any prompt to keep autopay turned on.

You should see: The account shows the new card on file or a confirmation that the payment method was updated.

  4. Verify the next bill

Check the next payment due date and, if available, run a small test payment or view the upcoming statement so you know the new card will be charged.

You should see: Billing shows the updated card and an upcoming charge date with no failed-payment warning.

Extra tips

What to look for: Billing, Payment method, or Wallet settings in the provider’s official account portal, plus any notice that the old card failed.

Before you change anything: Have the new card number, expiration date, ZIP code, and account login ready. Confirm you are on the provider’s official website or app. Note the current autopay status before changing cards. Never share the full card number with an unexpected caller.
