How do I link used DJI Smart Controllers to a Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual or Zoom?

Answer

Used DJI Smart Controllers often fail to bind because of model mismatch, leftover linking to a previous aircraft, or required firmware updates. Confirm the controller supports your Enterprise airframe, then unlink old aircraft and complete official linking in DJI Pilot or the controller’s link menu.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm controller and aircraft compatibility

Check DJI’s documentation for your exact Smart Controller variant and confirm it supports Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual/Zoom. If the app reports device not supported, stop and verify the hardware match before more link attempts.

You should see: You know whether this controller model is supposed to work with the Enterprise aircraft.

  2. Update firmware on both sides

Connect to the official DJI app or controller updater, install required aircraft and controller firmware, and restart both devices when updates finish. Keep them powered and on a stable network during the update.

You should see: Aircraft and controller firmware are current and compatible with each other.

  3. Clear the previous aircraft link

In the Smart Controller aircraft or link settings, remove or unlink any previously stored aircraft. Power on only the Enterprise Dual or Zoom you intend to use for the next bind.

You should see: The controller is no longer holding an old aircraft pairing.

  4. Put the aircraft into linking mode

Power on the Mavic 2 Enterprise, follow the official link/bind sequence for that model (usually a link button or combo shown in DJI Pilot), and watch for the aircraft’s linking indicators.

You should see: The aircraft enters linking mode and is ready to accept the controller.

  5. Complete linking from the Smart Controller

On the Smart Controller, start Link Aircraft or the equivalent control-stick/menu method from DJI’s official steps. Wait for success instead of repeating rapidly if the first attempt is still progressing.

You should see: The controller connects, or you get a stable error message to take back to DJI support.

  6. Retry one controller at a time

If you have two used controllers, finish a successful link with one before configuring the second. Mixed leftover pairings are harder to diagnose when both controllers are contested at once.

You should see: One controller works reliably, giving you a clean baseline for the second unit.

Extra tips

What to look for: Binding failed, device not supported, firmware update prompts, or a link attempt that times out with no aircraft connection

Before you change anything: Charge the aircraft and both controllers. Note the exact on-screen error during linking. Use only official DJI apps and firmware sources. Do not share DJI account passwords or verification codes with unexpected callers.
