How do I fix a Xiaomi phone stuck restarting on the MI logo?
Answer
Force a full shutdown, try booting to Recovery, and clear cache if available; if the MI logo boot loop continues, back up what you can and use Recovery wipe data only as a last step.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Wipe data or Factory reset permanently deletes photos, apps, and files stored only on the phone.
Follow these steps
Force a full power off
Hold the Power button for about 20 to 40 seconds until the screen stays black. Wait a minute, then try turning the phone on again.
You should see: The phone either boots normally or returns to the MI logo loop with a clean restart attempt.
Boot into Recovery mode
With the phone off, hold Power and Volume Up together until the Recovery menu appears. Button combinations can vary slightly by Xiaomi model; if Volume Up fails, try Power and Volume Down once.
You should see: You see a Recovery menu with options such as Reboot, Wipe data, or Clear cache.
Clear cache if the option exists
In Recovery, select Wipe cache or Clear cache partition if listed. Do not choose Wipe data yet. Then reboot the system.
You should see: The phone restarts and may get past the MI logo without erasing personal data.
Factory reset from Recovery only if needed
If the loop continues, return to Recovery and choose Wipe data or Factory reset, confirm, then reboot. After setup you may need your Mi Account or Google account if Find Device or Factory Reset Protection was enabled.
You should see: The phone boots to the initial setup screens instead of looping on the MI logo.

Extra tips
What to look for: The MI logo appearing, then an automatic restart that repeats, without reaching the lock screen
Before you change anything: Charge the phone for at least 30 minutes so it does not die mid-recovery. Understand that Wipe data in Recovery erases apps and personal files on the phone. Skip unofficial “unlock” tools promised by strangers. Never share Mi Account passwords or codes with unexpected callers.
