How do I set up a used Skylight Frame without the previous owner's account?
Answer
Factory-reset the frame, then use Activate Device in the Skylight app to create a fresh activation code; if Welcome back returns, Skylight support must release the frame from the old account.
Follow these steps
Create your own Skylight account
Install the Skylight app and sign up with your own email address before trying to claim the frame.
You should see: Your Skylight account is ready for device activation.
Factory-reset the frame again
Use the frame's reset process from Skylight's official instructions, then wait for the activation or welcome screen.
You should see: The frame is ready to accept a new activation code, or it again shows the previous email.
Activate with a fresh code
In the Skylight app, choose Activate Device to generate a new 6-digit code and enter it on the frame.
You should see: The frame joins your account, or it remains locked to the previous owner.
Ask Skylight to release the device
If Welcome back keeps returning, contact Skylight support with the frame model or serial details and explain that you do not have the previous owner's login.
You should see: Support unlinks the old account or explains the ownership-transfer requirements.

Extra tips
What to look for: A Welcome back message with the previous owner's email after reset, and whether Activate Device can issue a new 6-digit code
Before you change anything: Create your own Skylight account email before activating. Do not try to guess the previous owner's password. Keep proof of purchase or the garage-sale context if support asks why ownership changed. Never ask the old owner for passwords through unsafe channels if you do not know them.
