What should I do if I lost my iPhone?

Before you start: stop right away if…
- Never give Apple ID passwords or verification codes to someone who claims they found your phone and needs them.
- Erasing the iPhone remotely can remove the ability to see a live location afterward.
Follow these steps
Open Find My or iCloud.com
On another Apple device open the Find My app, or on a computer go to iCloud.com and sign in with the Apple ID used on the missing iPhone.
You should see: The missing iPhone appears in the device list.
Locate or play a sound
Select the iPhone and use Play Sound if you may be nearby, or view the map location if it is online.
You should see: You hear the phone or see a recent location.
Mark As Lost
Choose Mark As Lost, set a phone number where you can be reached, and activate the lost mode lock.
You should see: The iPhone is locked with your message and stops allowing ordinary use.
Secure the Apple ID
Change the Apple ID password on the official Apple ID site if recovery allows, review account devices, and contact your carrier about suspending the line if needed.
You should see: Account access and the mobile line are protected even if the phone is not recovered.
