Why aren’t Spotify Liked Songs syncing on a new iPhone?
Answer
When playlists sync but Liked Songs do not, the iPhone app is usually signed into the right account with a stuck local library cache. Signing out, fully reinstalling Spotify, and signing back in manually usually restores likes.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Deleting Spotify removes offline downloads stored on that iPhone.
Follow these steps
Confirm likes on another device
On a computer or another phone, sign in to the same Spotify account and check whether Liked Songs are present there.
You should see: Likes exist in the account, pointing to an iPhone sync issue, or are missing everywhere.
Restart and sign out of Spotify
Restart the iPhone, open Spotify, sign out, then sign back in once and wait for the library to refresh.
You should see: Liked Songs appear, or they are still missing after a refresh.
Fully remove Spotify from iPhone Storage
Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, delete Spotify so it is fully removed, then reinstall it from the App Store.
You should see: A clean Spotify install is ready on the iPhone.
Sign in manually and keep the app open
Sign in by typing the Spotify email and password rather than relying only on autofill, then keep Spotify open for a few minutes on the iPhone while also opening it on a computer if available.
You should see: Liked Songs sync down to the new iPhone.

Extra tips
What to look for: Playlists visible on the new iPhone while Liked Songs are missing, and whether likes still appear on a computer for the same account
Before you change anything: Confirm Liked Songs still appear when signed into Spotify on a computer. Know the Spotify email and password. Note that removing the app may delete offline downloads on the phone. Avoid third-party Spotify “fixers.”
