Why won't a Fitbit Versa 4 connect to a phone?
Answer
Restart Bluetooth and both devices, remove the stuck Versa 4 pairing from Bluetooth settings, then pair again in the official Google Fitbit app using the on-screen code.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Factory resetting the watch can remove stored fitness data not already synced.
- Only enter pairing codes displayed on your own watch during official app setup.
Follow these steps
Charge and restart the Versa 4
Place the watch on its charger until it shows charge, then restart it using Fitbit’s official Versa 4 restart method.
You should see: The watch face returns and the device responds to taps.
Toggle phone Bluetooth
Turn Bluetooth off for 10 seconds, turn it back on, and keep the phone unlocked near the watch.
You should see: Bluetooth shows as on and scanning/ready.
Remove old Bluetooth pairings
In phone Bluetooth settings, forget any Versa 4 or Fitbit entries. In the Fitbit app, remove the device if it appears as partially set up.
You should see: No stale Versa 4 pairing remains on the phone.
Start setup again in the Fitbit app
Open the Fitbit app, choose to add a Versa 4, and enter the pairing code shown on the watch when prompted.
You should see: The app confirms pairing and continues account sync.
Update firmware if offered
Keep the watch on the charger near the phone while any firmware update installs, then confirm sync works from the app dashboard.
You should see: The Versa 4 stays connected and syncs without returning to failed setup.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether the watch shows a pairing code, and whether the phone Bluetooth list already contains Versa 4.
Before you change anything: Charge the Versa 4. Install or update the official Fitbit app. Do not enter pairing codes from unexpected texts—only from the watch screen during app setup.
