How do I cancel a Fitbit-related subscription after the device stops working?

Answer

Cancel the subscription in the same place it was purchased—Fitbit/Google account, Apple, or Google Play—even if the tracker itself is broken. Turning off auto-renew there stops future charges; the dead device does not cancel billing by itself.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not give account passwords to anyone who contacts you unexpectedly offering cancellation help.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the subscription account

Sign in to the Fitbit app or website, or the Fitme account if that is what billed you, and go to Account, Settings, or Subscription.

You should see: You see the active subscription details.

  2. Cancel the plan

Choose Manage Subscription or Cancel Subscription and confirm until the end date or cancellation status appears.

You should see: The subscription is set to cancel or already canceled.

  3. Check Apple or Google billing

If no cancel option appears in the Fitbit account, open Apple Subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions and cancel the Fitbit-related plan there.

You should see: Store billing shows the subscription will not renew.

Extra tips

What to look for: Fitbit, Google, Fitme, Apple, or Google Play charges, plus a Manage subscription or Cancel control.

Before you change anything: Identify the billing platform from your statement. Cancel before the next renewal date. Save a cancellation confirmation. Unpairing the watch alone will not stop a premium subscription.
