How do I fix a DJ controller showing 'no source available' for streaming tracks?

Answer

This message usually appears when the unit cannot confirm a stable connection to the streaming service account, such as TIDAL or SoundCloud, for that specific track, often after a sign-out, a network drop, or viewing a filtered library instead of the actual streaming playlist.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Signing out of a streaming account may temporarily clear cached offline tracks; confirm any needed offline downloads before doing this.

Follow these steps

  1. Check the library view filter

On the unit's screen, confirm the source or library filter is set to show the full streaming collection rather than only local media or a narrowed filter.

You should see: The correct streaming source appears selected, ruling out a simple view filter as the cause.

  2. Open the actual playlist, not a filtered view

Navigate directly into the specific streaming playlist containing the track, rather than browsing through a combined or filtered library screen.

You should see: The track loads with its normal waveform and metadata if the issue was related to the filtered view.

  3. Sign out and back into the streaming account

On the unit, sign out of the affected streaming service completely, restart the unit fully, then sign back in once it boots up again.

You should see: The service reconnects, and previously unavailable tracks show a proper source and waveform.

  4. Confirm a stable Wi-Fi connection

After signing back in, check the Wi-Fi signal strength shown on the unit and move closer to the router if the signal is weak.

You should see: The connection shows as stable, and the library has time to fully repopulate over a few minutes.

  5. Allow time for the library to sync

After reconnecting, wait several minutes on a stable connection before testing tracks again, since large streaming libraries take time to resync.

You should see: Beatgrid, cue, loop, and waveform data begin saving normally for streaming tracks.

Extra tips

What to look for: The exact wording of the on-screen message, and whether it appears on all tracks from a service or only specific playlists or songs.

Before you change anything: Confirm which streaming service, such as TIDAL or SoundCloud, is affected. Check the Wi-Fi connection strength on the unit before troubleshooting further. Note whether the issue affects one playlist or the entire streaming library. Avoid signing out of multiple accounts at once, to keep track of what fixed it.
