How do I fix a Creality Falcon laser cutter that will not connect to the network?

Answer

When a Creality Falcon will not connect, confirm the USB or Wi-Fi path the machine actually uses, reboot the cutter and Mac together, then reselect the correct port or device in the laser software. If the software still cannot find the machine, reinstall or update the official Creality/Laser software and check cable, power, and firewall permissions before assuming a hardware fault.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Laser cutters are hazardous; keep the lid/interlocks respected and never bypass safety covers while testing connections.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm how your Falcon connects

Check the Falcon manual or Creality docs for whether your workflow uses USB, Wi-Fi, or both. Note any exact error text shown in the laser software when the connection fails.

You should see: You know which connection method to troubleshoot and have the error wording written down.

  2. Power-cycle machine and Mac connection

Turn the Falcon off, unplug the USB cable if used, wait 30 seconds, then power the Falcon on and reconnect the cable firmly to a direct Mac USB port (avoid unpowered hubs). Restart the laser software afterward.

You should see: The machine is on a fresh power cycle and the software is relaunched against a direct connection.

  3. Reselect the device in software

In the Creality/laser app, open the device or connection settings and manually choose the Falcon or correct serial/network device. If you use Wi-Fi, confirm the Mac and laser are on the same network and that Local Network permission is allowed for the app in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

You should see: The software lists the Falcon again, or you see a clearer failure after selecting the right target.

  4. Update or reinstall the official software

Install the latest official Creality software package for Mac from Creality’s site. Retry the connection. If USB still fails, try a known-good data cable and another Mac port before arranging hardware support.

You should see: A clean software install either restores the link or isolates the issue to cable/hardware.

Extra tips

What to look for: Connection or device-not-found errors in the laser software, whether USB or Wi-Fi is expected for your Falcon setup, and Mac privacy prompts for local network or serial access.

Before you change anything: Save or export any unfinished laser project files. Use the official Creality software or the app version recommended for your Falcon. Avoid random third-party “driver packs” from unknown sites. Keep the machine powered off when reseating USB cables.
