How do I get a T-Mobile port-out PIN to transfer my number?

Answer

Sign in to your T-Mobile account on the official app or website and request the transfer/port-out PIN from the line or number-transfer section. The new carrier will also need your account number and the billing ZIP or postal code; do not share those details with unexpected callers.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Never share a port-out PIN, account number, or one-time codes with unexpected callers or texts—number-port scams are common.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign in on an official T-Mobile path

Open the T-Mobile app or go to t-mobile.com and sign in with the account that owns the phone number. Avoid links from unexpected messages.

You should see: You reach your real T-Mobile account dashboard for that line.

  2. Find the transfer or port-out PIN

Look under account, line settings, or number-transfer / port-out options for Transfer PIN, Port-out PIN, or similar wording. Request or view the PIN if T-Mobile offers that control.

You should see: You can see or generate the PIN the new carrier needs.

  3. Collect the other porting details

Write down the T-Mobile account number, the phone number to port, and the billing ZIP or postal code. Keep the PIN private until you enter it with the new carrier.

You should see: You have the full set of details the new carrier’s porting form asks for.

  4. Start the port with the new carrier

Enter the PIN and account details only in the new carrier’s official app, store, or website. If the port fails, refresh or request a new PIN in T-Mobile and try again once.

You should see: The new carrier accepts the port request or shows a specific error you can check with either carrier.

Extra tips

What to look for: Transfer PIN / port-out PIN in the T-Mobile account, the mobile account number, and the billing ZIP used for the line.

Before you change anything: Confirm you are the account owner or authorized user on the T-Mobile line. Have the account number and billing ZIP ready for the new carrier. Use only the official T-Mobile app or t-mobile.com—not links from unexpected texts. Never give the port-out PIN to anyone except the carrier you are switching to.
