How do I fix a TV stuck on the Welcome or Bienvenido startup screen?
Answer
Unplug the TV for a full 5 minutes, hold the physical power button for about 15 seconds while it is unplugged if the set has one, then power on and try Menu or Input on the TV’s own buttons—not only the remote.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not open the TV chassis or probe internal boards; that can cause shock and void warranty.
- Ignore unexpected callers who ask for payment or remote access to “unlock” a stuck TV.
Follow these steps
Unplug and discharge for 5 minutes
Turn the TV off if possible, unplug it from the wall, and leave it unplugged for a full 5 minutes. If there is a physical power button, press and hold it for about 15 seconds while the TV is still unplugged.
You should see: Residual power is cleared and the TV is ready for a clean restart.
Power on with TV buttons
Plug the TV back in by itself (no streaming sticks required for this test) and turn it on. Use the physical power button on the set if the remote fails.
You should see: The TV powers on and either leaves the Welcome screen or shows a new status.
Try Menu or Input on the set
Press Menu or Input once on the TV’s front or side controls to see whether the UI advances past Welcome. Do not rely only on the remote during this check.
You should see: The setup screen moves forward, an input list appears, or you confirm the panel buttons also do nothing.
Repeat one clean power cycle if needed
If it is still stuck, remove power again for 5 minutes, hold the physical power button while unplugged if available, then retry. After recovery, connect HDMI devices one at a time if you later see No Video Signal.
You should see: Either setup continues, or the TV remains frozen and is ready for warranty or technician support.

Extra tips
What to look for: A frozen Welcome, Bienvenido, Bienvenue screen; no response to remote; or later a No Video Signal message after partial recovery.
Before you change anything: Confirm the TV is plugged into a working wall outlet. Try the TV’s physical buttons before assuming the panel failed. Do not open the TV case. Never share account passwords with unexpected callers offering “remote TV repair.”
