How do I fix an optic booster box that gets stuck on the syncing screen?
Answer
When a mesh or optic booster stalls on syncing, the phone used for setup is often still on mobile data or a different Wi-Fi band than the main router. Connect the phone to the main Wi-Fi only, power-cycle the router and booster, and retry pairing before reconnecting other extenders.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Install the setup app only from the official App Store or Google Play.
Follow these steps
Put the phone on main Wi-Fi only
Turn off mobile data on the phone, forget guest networks if needed, and connect to the primary home Wi-Fi—not a booster SSID that is only half set up.
You should see: The phone shows the main router network as connected with mobile data off.
Power-cycle router and booster
Unplug the booster and router for 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the router back in first and wait until internet works, then power the booster.
You should see: Both devices reboot cleanly before another pairing attempt.
Retry setup near the router
Place the booster near the router, open the official app, and run setup again. Stay on the syncing screen for the full recommended wait only once.
You should see: Syncing completes and the app shows the booster as online.
Add other boosters afterward
After the first unit is online, move it to its final location if signal remains good, then set up any additional boosters one at a time.
You should see: Each booster joins the mesh without getting stuck on synchronizing.

Extra tips
What to look for: A stuck syncing or synchronizing screen, setup app waiting beyond a couple of minutes, and whether the phone still has mobile data enabled.
Before you change anything: Know the main Wi-Fi name and password. Keep the booster close to the router during first-time pairing. Note the booster model printed on the label. Use the official setup app from the app store.
