How do I fix a SmoothSpine massager that lights up but does not massage?

Answer

If a new SmoothSpine massager lights up but does not move or vibrate, charge it fully, confirm the mode and intensity are not set to off or zero, and reseat any power connection. If lights work but the motor never runs, contact the seller or maker for a warranty replacement.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Stop using the massager immediately if it overheats, smells burnt, sparks, or the battery swells.

Follow these steps

  1. Charge the massager fully

Connect the SmoothSpine massager with the included charger or cable and charge it for the time listed in the quick-start guide, often until the charge light shows full or turns solid.

You should see: The charge indicator shows a completed charge, or the lights behave as described in the manual.

  2. Power on and raise intensity

Press the power button, then cycle through each mode and increase intensity above the lowest setting. Wait a few seconds on each mode to see whether the motor starts.

You should see: The massager begins moving or vibrating on at least one mode, or lights change while the motor still stays still.

  3. Reseat the cable and try a wall outlet

Unplug and firmly reconnect the charging cable at both ends. If the unit can run while plugged in, try a different wall outlet and avoid unpowered USB hubs.

You should see: The device either starts working on wall power or still only shows lights with no massage action.

  4. Check for an obvious setup miss

Review the SmoothSpine quick-start sheet for a lock switch, travel lock, required app pairing, or a cover that must be seated before the motor will run.

You should see: You find and clear a lock or setup step, or you confirm no such step applies.

  5. Request a warranty replacement

If lights work but the motor never runs after a full charge and correct mode settings, contact the seller or SmoothSpine support with the order number and describe the out-of-box failure.

You should see: Support authorizes a replacement, refund, or next troubleshooting step under warranty.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether indicator lights turn on with the power button, whether any mode or intensity setting is active, and whether the motor makes any sound or vibration at all.

Before you change anything: Keep the order number, packing slip, and warranty information. Charge the massager with the included cable or adapter only. Do not open the sealed housing or cut cables. Stop using the device if it smells burnt, sparks, or becomes very hot.
