Why does a Sharper Image massager show a blue flashing light and will not turn on?

Answer

A blue flashing light with no start usually means the unit is in a protection/fault state, the adapter is wrong/failing, or internal power electronics need service. Confirm the original adapter rating, try a full longer power drain, and stop if it smells hot—replacement or warranty service is often required when button resets fail.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Stop using the device if it smells burnt, smokes, or overheats.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the power adapter

Check that the adapter’s voltage, current, and plug fit match the massager label; swap to the original adapter if a third-party supply was used.

You should see: A correct supply is connected firmly.

  2. Perform a longer power drain

Unplug the unit, hold the power button for 30–60 seconds, wait at least two minutes, then plug into a known-good outlet and try power on again.

You should see: The blue flash clears and the massager starts, or the same fault repeats.

  3. Inspect cord and controls

Look for pinched cords, bent connectors, or stuck buttons that keep the unit in a fault blink pattern.

You should see: Physical damage is found/ruled out.

  4. Seek warranty or replacement

If it still only flashes blue, contact Sharper Image or the retailer with model 205360-01 and purchase proof—continued resets rarely fix internal power faults.

You should see: You get a repair, replacement, or refund path.

Extra tips

What to look for: Blue flashing LED behavior, beeps, adapter voltage/current labels, and any heat or burning smell.

Before you change anything: Unplug before inspecting cables. Match the adapter’s voltage and polarity to the model label. Do not open sealed motor housings if under warranty. Keep liquids away from the control panel.
