How do I locate a lost iPhone?

Sign into Find My on another Apple device or iCloud.com with the same Apple ID, select the missing iPhone, and use Play Sound, Directions, or Lost Mode.

- Erasing a lost iPhone can stop future Find My location updates.
Follow these steps
Open Find My on another device or iCloud
On another Apple device open the Find My app, or on a computer go to iCloud.com and open Find Devices, then sign in with the Apple ID used on the missing iPhone.
You should see: Your Apple devices list appears.
Select the missing iPhone
Choose the lost iPhone from the device list and wait for a location, last seen time, or offline status to load.
You should see: You see a current location, a last-known location, or an offline notice.
Play a sound if it may be nearby
If you might be close to the phone, tap Play Sound and listen for the alert.
You should see: The iPhone plays a sound, or you confirm it is not nearby.
Mark as Lost to protect the device
Use Mark As Lost / Lost Mode to lock the iPhone with a message and contact number, which also helps track it if it comes back online.
You should see: The iPhone is marked Lost and cannot be easily erased without your Apple ID.
Take next steps if it cannot be found
If the phone stays offline, keep Lost Mode on, notify your carrier, and only use Erase This Device if you accept that locating it afterward may no longer be possible.
