How do I record a show on a Spectrum Xumo stream box?

Answer

On Spectrum’s Xumo Stream Box, recording usually works through the Spectrum TV app guide when Cloud DVR is included on the account. Highlight a live or upcoming show in the guide and choose Record; recorded titles then appear in the DVR or Library area.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Manage Spectrum services only through official Spectrum account pages or support—not pop-up upsells.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the Spectrum TV guide

On the Xumo box, open Spectrum TV, go to Live TV or Guide, and highlight the program you want to save.

You should see: The program details screen opens with available actions.

  2. Choose Record if shown

Select Record or Record series if those options appear, then confirm any scheduling prompt.

You should see: The guide marks the show as scheduled to record.

  3. Find the recording in Library or DVR

Open the Library, DVR, or Recordings section in Spectrum TV and wait until the live show ends if it is still airing.

You should see: The recorded program appears and can be played.

  4. Add Cloud DVR if Record is missing

If there is no Record option, sign in to your Spectrum account on the official site or app and check whether Cloud DVR is part of the plan. Add it if needed, restart the Xumo box, and check the guide again.

You should see: Record appears for supported channels after Cloud DVR is active.

Extra tips

What to look for: A Record option on the guide details screen, Cloud DVR on the Spectrum account, and a Library/DVR list where saved shows appear.

Before you change anything: Confirm which Spectrum TV package you have. Use the Spectrum TV experience on the Xumo box rather than a third-party app if you were shown that path. Have account login ready if you need to add Cloud DVR. Do not buy random “DVR unlock” offers from pop-ups.
