How do I sign into the correct Facebook account on a new phone?

Open Facebook, switch profiles or log out of the saved old account, then sign in with the email or phone number for the current account. Remove the old saved login if the phone keeps returning to it.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Creating another new Facebook account can make Marketplace and message history harder to recover.
- Only sign in through the official Facebook app or facebook.com.
Follow these steps
Open the Facebook menu and look for account switching
Open Facebook, tap the profile photo or three-line menu, and check for a switch-profile or logged-in accounts option.
You should see: You can switch to the current profile, or only the old account is present.
Log out of the old account
In the menu, choose Log out or remove the old saved account from the login screen.
You should see: Facebook returns to a signed-out or account-picker screen.
Sign in with the current account
Sign in using the phone number or email for the current Facebook account and complete any security check.
You should see: The correct profile and Marketplace access appear.
Remove the old saved login if it returns
If the old account keeps appearing, remove it from the saved logins on the Facebook login screen and keep only the current account.
You should see: The phone stays on the intended Facebook account.
