How do I turn off Smart Call Blocker on a home phone?

Answer

Open the phone’s Call block or Smart call blocker menu, select On/Off or SCB Off, and save. If the menu keeps returning after a power loss, set the preference again and check the manual for your exact model.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Turning off call blocking may increase spam or scam calls to the handset.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Smart Call Blocker settings

On the handset or base menu, open Call block settings or Smart call blocker.

You should see: You see On/Off, SCB On/Off, or similar options.

  2. Switch the feature off

Select On/Off or SCB Off, confirm if asked, and exit until the idle screen returns.

You should see: Smart Call Blocker shows as off.

  3. Confirm with a test call if needed

Have someone call from a number that was being screened and confirm the phone rings normally.

You should see: Calls ring without Smart Call Blocker intercept prompts.

  4. Recheck after power interruptions

If the phone recently lost power, reopen the same menu and verify the setting remained off; set it again if it reverted.

You should see: The off setting persists after reboot.

Extra tips

What to look for: Menu items named Smart call blocker, SCB On/Off, or Call block settings

Before you change anything: Write down the phone model from the base or battery cover. Note any numbers you still want blocked before turning the feature off. Keep the handset charged or plugged in while changing settings. Do not confuse this with carrier-level robocall blocking on the account.
