How do I update the Wi-Fi password on a Google Nest device?
Answer
After a Wi-Fi password change, reopen the Nest device in the Google Home app and update its network credentials, or remove and re-add the device if it no longer appears. The phone used for setup should already be on the new Wi-Fi.

- Factory-resetting a Nest removes it from the home until you set it up again.
Follow these steps
Join your phone to the new Wi-Fi
On your phone, forget the old network if needed, connect to the updated Wi-Fi, and confirm browsing works.
You should see: The phone is online on the new network.
Try updating the device network in Google Home
Open Google Home, select the Nest device if it still appears, and look for settings to update Wi-Fi or reconnect. Enter the new password.
You should see: The Nest comes back online, or it remains missing/offline.
Reset the Nest for setup if it is missing
If Nest no longer shows in the app because it cannot reach the old network, use the device’s reset method to enter setup mode.
You should see: The Nest is discoverable for setup again.
Add the Nest on the new network
In Google Home, add the device, select the new Wi-Fi, enter the password, and place it back in its room.
You should see: The Nest appears online and responds normally.
