How do you cancel an Apple subscription or account you no longer want?
Answer
Cancel active subscriptions under the Apple ID Subscriptions page, then delete the app account only if you also need that. If a subscription already says Expired, billing has already stopped.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Use only Apple Settings or official Apple refund pages—not third-party “cancel for you” sites.
Follow these steps
Cancel in Apple Subscriptions
Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, open the unwanted item, and tap Cancel Subscription. Confirm until status shows Canceled or Expired.
You should see: Auto-renew is off.
Confirm no other billing path
If the service also has a website login, sign in there and cancel any separate membership so two billers are not active.
You should see: Only one cancelation path remains, or both are canceled.
Request a refund if eligible
Use reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for a recent unexpected charge if you believe it qualifies.
You should see: Apple accepts or declines the refund request.
Delete the app account only if needed
If you also want the service account removed, use the app’s delete-account option where required by policy, after billing is canceled.
You should see: Billing is stopped and the account is closed if that was the goal.

Extra tips
What to look for: An unwanted Apple subscription or app account continues billing or renewing after a disappointing purchase.
Before you change anything: Identify whether the charge is an App Store subscription or a website account. Screenshot the subscription details before canceling. Know that canceling may not erase already paid time.
