How do you reconnect a Peloton Bike when the live connection drops?
Answer
Reconnect the bike tablet to Wi-Fi, force-close the Peloton app or reboot the touchscreen, then rejoin the class; check Peloton service status if the drop keeps happening for everyone.
Follow these steps
Check Wi-Fi on the bike tablet
Open Peloton settings, confirm the bike is connected to the intended network, and run the network test if available.
You should see: Wi-Fi shows connected with a passing network test.
Leave and rejoin the class
Exit the live class screen fully, wait 30 seconds, then join again from the schedule.
You should see: The live stream reconnects or gives a clearer error.
Restart the Peloton tablet
Use the tablet power button to shut down fully, wait 30 seconds, power on, and sign back into Peloton.
You should see: The home screen loads and classes are listed again.
Try an on-demand class as a test
Start a short on-demand ride to see whether video works outside live events.
You should see: On-demand plays (pointing to a live-session issue) or also fails (broader network/app issue).
Update the tablet software
Install any pending Peloton updates, then retest a live or encore class.
You should see: The bike stays connected through the class start.

Extra tips
What to look for: Wi-Fi bars on the Peloton screen, any “unable to join” message, and whether on-demand classes still play.
Before you change anything: Move closer to the router if possible. Pause other heavy streaming on the network. Note whether the issue is only live classes or all Peloton content.
