How do I reinstall a Peloton Bike handlebar post after a move?
Answer
Remove the bottom retention screw completely before sliding the handlebar post back into the frame, align it to the correct height marking, then reinstall and tighten the hardware to Peloton’s torque guidance. Do not force the post with the bottom screw still protruding.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Riding with a loose handlebar post can cause a fall and injury.
Follow these steps
Remove the bottom screw first
Take out the screw at the bottom of the handlebar post completely and set it aside with its washer if present.
You should see: The post end is clear and can enter the frame tube.
Loosen the frame clamp
Fully loosen the handlebar post clamp or knob on the bike frame so the post can slide without binding.
You should see: The clamp opening is free.
Insert and align the post
Slide the post in to your preferred height marking, keeping cables clear if your model routes any near the stem, then snug the clamp.
You should see: The post sits at the chosen height without rocking.
Reinstall the bottom screw and final-tighten
Reinstall the bottom retention screw as directed for your Bike/Bike+ model, then firmly tighten the clamp. Test by pushing and pulling the bars before riding.
You should see: The post no longer slips and bars feel secure.

Extra tips
What to look for: The bottom screw on the handlebar post, height markings on the post, and whether the clamp or knob at the frame is fully loosened.
Before you change anything: Confirm whether you have a Peloton Bike or Bike+. Keep all removed hardware in one dish. Loosen the handlebar clamp fully before inserting the post. Do not ride until the post is secured.
