Connect to a computer
Plug the iPhone into a Mac (Finder) or Windows PC (Apple Devices/iTunes).
You should see: The computer detects the iPhone.
Try Update first
Choose Update to reinstall iOS without erasing when that option is offered.
You should see: iOS finishes and the phone returns to a usable lock screen.
Confirm USB detection
On Windows, check System Information > USB for Apple Mobile Device; on Mac confirm Finder lists the phone.
You should see: The phone is listed as connected.
Recovery mode Restore if needed
Enter recovery mode for your model, choose Restore, then sign in with the Apple ID after setup.
You should see: The phone restores to factory iOS.
