Why are YouTube TV channels locked after repurchasing?
Answer
Locked channels after a repurchase usually mean the new subscription has not refreshed on the device, the wrong Google account is signed in, or the channel is not included in the current plan. Sign out and back into the correct account, then refresh the app.
Follow these steps
Confirm the active subscription account
On a phone or computer, open the Google account subscriptions page or YouTube TV membership page and verify the plan is active on a specific Google account.
You should see: You know which account holds the working subscription.
Sign the TV into that same account
In the YouTube or YouTube TV app on the TV, sign out, then sign in with the account that shows the active purchase.
You should see: The app shows the membership as active.
Refresh the app and channel list
Force-close the app or restart the TV, reopen it, and browse the channel list again.
You should see: Previously locked channels unlock, or only excluded add-ons remain locked.
Check plan contents and support
If locks remain, compare the channel to your plan’s included lineup. Contact Google or YouTube TV support with the order details if a channel that should be included stays locked.
You should see: You either add the needed extra or support restores the entitlement.

Extra tips
What to look for: A lock icon on channels, which Google account is signed in on the TV, and whether the purchase receipt shows an active plan.
Before you change anything: Have the purchase confirmation email available. Confirm which Google account paid for YouTube or YouTube TV. Use the official YouTube or YouTube TV app. Avoid third-party unlock tools.
