How do I find a previous support chat on an iPad?
Answer
Open the same support website or app used for the original chat while signed into the same account, then look for Help, Message history, or Your questions. Email receipts for that account often contain links back to the thread.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not enter your support-account password on lookalike websites from unexpected emails.
Follow these steps
Sign into the same support account
Open the original help site or app on the iPad and sign in with the same email used for the chat.
You should see: Your customer account or help home loads.
Open message or question history
Look for Message history, Your questions, Inbox, or Help center activity and open the matching conversation.
You should see: The previous chat transcript appears.
Search email for the transcript
In Mail, search for the support brand name or words like chat transcript, case, or question answered, then open any link from the official domain.
You should see: An email opens the prior conversation in the browser or app.
Check browser tabs or history as a backup
If you used Safari, open History and look for the help-site URL from the chat day, then sign in again if the page asks.
You should see: You return to the help site where history can be loaded after sign-in.

Extra tips
What to look for: Help center message history, email subject lines about your question, or an open chat transcript link
Before you change anything: Use the same email account that started the chat. Check spam for transcript emails. Do not share chat links that contain personal account tokens publicly. Avoid third-party apps that claim to recover chats from every website.
