How do I fix Amazon Prime Video that works on my phone but not on one Hisense TV?

Answer

On the problem Hisense TV, update or reinstall the Prime Video app, sign in with the same Amazon account that works on your phone, and check that the TV’s date, time, network, and Amazon app permissions are correct. If only this TV fails, the issue is usually the TV app or its network connection—not the Amazon subscription itself.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Clearing app data signs you out of Prime Video on that TV and removes local app data.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the account works elsewhere

On your phone, open the official Amazon Prime Video app or Amazon site and play a title with the same account you want on the TV.

You should see: Playback works on the phone, showing the subscription is active.

  2. Update Prime Video on the Hisense TV

On the TV, open the app store, find Prime Video, and install any available update. Restart the TV afterward.

You should see: Prime Video is on the latest version available for that TV.

  3. Sign out and sign back in

Open Prime Video on the Hisense TV, sign out, then sign in with the same Amazon email used on the phone. Complete any on-screen device registration code if asked.

You should see: The TV account matches the phone and shows your Prime library or Home row.

  4. Clear the Prime Video app cache

On Android TV settings, open Apps > Prime Video > Clear cache (and Clear data only if cache alone fails, knowing you must sign in again). Reopen the app and retry playback.

You should see: The app relaunches cleanly and attempts to play without the old stuck screen.

  5. Check network and TV time settings

Confirm the Hisense TV is on a working Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection and that date and time are set automatically. Retry a Prime title after those checks.

You should see: The TV has working internet and correct time; Prime Video either plays or shows a clearer error.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether Prime Video errors, stays on a free-trial screen, or never loads on the Hisense TV while the same account plays on a phone.

Before you change anything: Confirm Prime Video plays on your phone with the same Amazon account. Use the TV’s official app store for Prime Video updates. Note any exact error text before clearing app data. Never share Amazon passwords or one-time codes with unexpected callers.
