How do I fix a Samsung TV that says there is a serious shortage of internal store space?
Answer
Free space from the TV’s Device Care or Apps storage menus by clearing cache, deleting unused apps, and removing large downloads, then restart the TV.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Clearing an app’s data signs you out of that app and can remove offline downloads.
Follow these steps
Open Device Care or Storage settings
On the Samsung TV remote press Home or Menu, go to Settings, then Support or System, and open Device Care, Storage, or a similarly named storage screen.
You should see: You see how much internal storage is free and which apps use the most space.
Clear cache for large apps
Open Apps or the storage details list, select heavy apps such as streaming services, and clear cache where the option is available. Avoid Clear Data unless you are willing to sign back into that app.
You should see: Used storage drops and the low-space alert may clear.
Delete unused apps and downloads
Uninstall apps you no longer use and remove downloaded videos, offline content, or extra Smart Hub items from storage or each app’s own download menu.
You should see: Several hundred megabytes or more of space become free.
Restart the TV and recheck storage
Turn the TV fully off, unplug it for about one minute, plug it back in, then reopen Storage or Device Care to confirm free space improved and the shortage message is gone.
You should see: The shortage message no longer appears and apps open more reliably.

Extra tips
What to look for: The exact alert “there is currently a serious shortage of internal store space,” plus slow app loading or apps that will not open
Before you change anything: Note which streaming apps you still need before deleting anything. Clear cache before deleting apps if you want the smallest change first. Do not factory reset the TV until storage cleanup fails. Never share account passwords with unexpected callers.
