How do I get the Fitbit app back when it is missing from my phone?

Answer

Reinstall the Fitbit app from the official App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android), then sign in with the same Fitbit/Google account you used before. Your progress usually syncs from the cloud once the tracker reconnects; the missing app icon alone does not mean your history is gone.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Install Fitbit only from the official App Store or Google Play Store.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the app is truly uninstalled

On iPhone, swipe down and search for “Fitbit,” and check the App Library. On Android, open the app drawer and search for Fitbit. If it appears, open it instead of reinstalling.

You should see: You either reopen the existing app or confirm it is not installed.

  2. Reinstall from the official store

Open the App Store on iPhone (or Google Play on Android), search for Fitbit by Google, and install the official app.

You should see: Fitbit installs and appears on the home screen or in your apps list.

  3. Sign in with the same account

Open Fitbit and sign in with the same email/Google account you used before. Complete any verification the app requests through official prompts only.

You should see: Your dashboard loads and previous activity history begins to appear.

  4. Reconnect the tracker

Turn Bluetooth on, keep the Fitbit nearby, and follow the in-app pairing or sync steps until the device shows as connected.

You should see: The app syncs recent stats from the tracker and updates progress.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether Fitbit is missing from the home screen and App Library/app drawer, and whether other apps disappeared after a recent phone update.

Before you change anything: Know the email used for your Fitbit or Google account. Install only from the App Store or Google Play, not sideloaded APKs. Keep the Fitbit tracker nearby and charged for Bluetooth pairing. Never share account codes with unexpected callers.
