How do I unblock inmate calls after choosing permanent block on Securus?

Answer

A permanent block from a Securus automated prompt is usually stored on your number in the Securus system, not as a normal phone contact block. Signing in to your Securus Online account and removing the block under Block/Unblock Calls often restores calling.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Avoid third-party sites that ask for payment just to reverse a Securus block; use the official Securus account tools first.

Follow these steps

  1. Check your phone’s own block list

Open the Phone app, go to Recents or Settings for blocked contacts, and confirm the inmate number is not also blocked on the device itself. Remove it there if it is.

You should see: Any local phone block is cleared, or you confirm the number was never blocked on the device.

  2. Sign in to Securus Online

Open the official Securus Online website or app and sign in with the account linked to the phone number that received the call. Create an account for that number if you do not already have one.

You should see: You reach your Securus account dashboard without unexpected payment or unlock prompts.

  3. Open Block/Unblock Calls

In the Securus account menus, open Block/Unblock Calls or the equivalent call-blocking settings for your phone number.

You should see: You see a list of blocked numbers, facilities, or call preferences for your line.

  4. Confirm the scope of the block

Check whether your number is blocked only for Fort Bend County or for all Securus-served facilities, then select the matching block entry.

You should see: You can tell whether the block is facility-specific or account-wide before changing it.

  5. Remove the block and save

Unblock your number or remove the permanent-block preference, then save the change and wait a short time before testing another call.

You should see: Securus shows the block removed, and a later inmate call can connect again if the facility and account allow it.

Extra tips

What to look for: A Securus or inmate-call recording that offered a permanent-block option, and a Block/Unblock Calls setting in your Securus Online account

Before you change anything: Confirm the calls were through Securus or a similar inmate calling service, not a regular cell number. Note whether the block may apply to one facility (such as Fort Bend County) or all Securus facilities. Use only the official Securus website or app when signing in. Never share your password or one-time codes with anyone who calls you about the block.
