How do I factory-reset a TV if I forgot the PIN or password?

Answer

Try the TV’s physical-button reset sequence (often power cord out, hold Power on the TV, plug in while holding). If a parental/settings PIN still blocks menus, check the manual for the model’s master PIN reset, or contact the manufacturer with proof of ownership—avoid random online “universal PINs.”

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • A factory reset erases apps, accounts, and settings stored on the TV.
  • Websites selling universal TV PINs are unreliable and often scams.

Follow these steps

  1. Try a physical power reset

Unplug the TV, press and hold the physical Power button on the set, plug it back in while still holding, and keep holding about 15–30 seconds (timing can vary by model).

You should see: The TV restarts into setup or clears the soft lock.

  2. Use the model’s PIN reset instructions

Look up the official reset/PIN reset steps for your exact model number on the manufacturer’s support site.

You should see: Official steps describe clearing parental or factory PIN locks.

  3. Complete factory setup

If reset succeeds, go through first-time setup and skip linking old PINs; create a new PIN only if you will remember it or store it securely.

You should see: The TV reaches the Home screen without the old PIN.

  4. Contact support with proof of ownership

If still locked, contact the maker/support with model, serial, and purchase proof for an authorized unlock path.

You should see: Support provides a documented unlock or service option.

Extra tips

What to look for: Enter PIN prompts, model number on the sticker (for example V705-J01 style codes), and whether physical buttons respond.

Before you change anything: Write down the exact model from the rear sticker. Back up apps/logins you care about if the TV still partially works. Factory reset erases installed apps and accounts on the TV. Do not pay unlock services that ask for remote access.
