How do I connect a TV to Starlink Wi-Fi when it asks for a password?
Answer
Use the Starlink app to view or set the Wi-Fi network name and password, then enter that same password on the TV’s Wi-Fi screen. Starlink does create a Wi-Fi password—it is managed in the app, not usually printed as a permanent default on a sticker for every setup.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Changing the Starlink Wi-Fi password will disconnect devices that still use the old password until they are updated.
Follow these steps
Open Wi-Fi settings in the Starlink app
On a phone with the Starlink app, open Settings (or Network) and find Wi-Fi settings showing the current network name and password options.
You should see: You can see the Starlink SSID and view or change the Wi-Fi password.
Confirm the TV is selecting the same network name
On the TV, open Network or Wi-Fi settings and select the exact Starlink network name shown in the app—not a neighbor’s similar SSID.
You should see: The TV prompts for the password for that matching network.
Enter the Starlink Wi-Fi password on the TV
Type the Wi-Fi password from the Starlink app carefully (watch uppercase letters and symbols), then connect.
You should see: The TV shows Connected, or a clear incorrect-password error.
Try a simpler network if needed
If the TV struggles with the main SSID, temporarily enable a simpler or guest-style network in Starlink Wi-Fi settings if available, or briefly test with a phone hotspot to confirm the TV’s Wi-Fi hardware works.
You should see: You know whether the TV can join any Wi-Fi or only fails on Starlink.
Change the Wi-Fi password if it was never set clearly
In the Starlink app, set a new Wi-Fi password you control, save it, wait for the network to restart, reconnect your phone, then join the TV with the new password.
You should see: Phone and TV both connect using the password you just set.

Extra tips
What to look for: The Starlink Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password in the Starlink app, and the TV’s Wi-Fi prompt asking for that network password.
Before you change anything: Have the Starlink app signed in on a phone that can reach the kit. Note the exact Wi-Fi name the TV is trying to join. Prefer copying the password from the app rather than guessing. Do not share the Wi-Fi password with unexpected callers.
